The origins of Art Nouveau can be traced to a 1890s push against industrialization and toward “new art” that was unique, hand, crafted, and used all types of decorative media.

Art Nouveau hareketi, 1900’de Paris’te düzenlenen Exposition Universelle’de 50 milyon ziyaretçiyle uluslararası alanda zirveye ulaştı.

The exposition promoted pioneers of the new style such as the French artists, jeweler René Lalique and glass craftsman Emile Gallé. Louis Tiffany also had a large display, showing the growth of the movement in the Americas.
