ChartQuill

Açıklama

ChartQuill is a flexible chart builder for the WordPress block editor. Create
responsive bar, line, pie, scatter, histogram, and heatmap charts from data
entered directly, pasted from a spreadsheet, or imported from a local CSV/TSV
file, without leaving Gutenberg.

Each chart block provides purposeful controls for mapping, formatting, colour,
and presentation. Add a useful title, summary, source, and optional linked data
table so the finished visualization works naturally within an article, report,
dashboard, or page.

Chart data stays with the block and remains editable in WordPress. No iframe,
hosted chart service, or front-end CDN is required. Your data stays under your
control, and semantic fallback content keeps the underlying information
available beyond the visual.

The free edition includes:

  • Vertical and horizontal single-series bar charts.
  • Vertical and horizontal grouped bar charts.
  • Dot plots and lollipop charts for precise, lightweight comparisons.
  • Line charts, scatter plots, histograms, heatmaps, and pie charts.
  • Common chart controls for number/date formats, ordering, legends, ticks,
chart height, bar spacing/corners, line shape, and point size.
  • A guided sample start plus one spreadsheet-like editor with direct CSV/TSV
paste and local file import, explicit Apply or Cancel actions, and
    chart-appropriate field mapping.
  • Title, accessible summary, source, and unit fields.
  • Theme-aware colours, legends, optional grid lines, and context-sensitive labels.
  • Readable chart tags that are unique within a post.
  • Responsive, self-hosted SVG enhancement without an iframe or chart service.
  • On-mark pointer tooltips plus a compact keyboard- and touch-friendly value
explorer, without a separate tab stop for every chart mark.
  • One-click linked Chart Data Table blocks with clear connection status,
captions, Minimal/Grid/Striped native Block Styles, two densities, standard
block styling, and saved snapshots that can outlive their source chart.
  • Two opt-in, demo-ready ChartQuill starter patterns; activation never creates
    demo pages.
  • A ChartQuill settings page for the default colour of newly inserted charts.
  • Wide and full-width alignment.

Each chart and its data are saved with the post. Titles, summaries, sources,
and any linked data table remain available if the visual cannot be rendered,
helping the underlying information stay accessible and useful.

SSS

Which chart styles are included?

Free includes vertical and horizontal single/grouped bars, dot plots, lollipop charts, line, scatter,
histogram, heatmap, and pie. Pro adds stacked and 100% stacked bars in both
orientations, bullet, diverging Likert, waterfall, area, trend, bubble, box
plot, and donut styles.

Does ChartQuill send chart data to another service?

No. Chart data remains in WordPress. ChartQuill bundles its rendering libraries
locally and does not use a hosted chart-rendering service or CDN.

Does ChartQuill use an external service?

ChartQuill uses the Freemius SDK for optional usage opt-in, Pro license
activation, updates, upgrades, and commerce. Freemius does not render charts or
receive chart data.

Free users may skip the Freemius data-sharing opt-in. If a user opts in,
Freemius may receive the opted-in administrator’s name and email address,
website URL, WordPress/PHP/product versions, site language, product state, and
an optional list of installed plugins and themes. Activating a paid license
sends the license and site/product version details needed to manage activations
and deliver updates. See Freemius’s privacy policy and data-practices disclosure:

What happens when JavaScript is unavailable?

The server-rendered title, summary, source, and any separately placed Chart Data Table remain available.

What happens to a Pro chart if its license is unavailable?

ChartQuill preserves the saved chart document and semantic data. You can
explicitly convert it to the nearest Free mode, but it is never silently changed.

Can I set a default chart colour?

Yes. Use the colour picker under ChartQuill > Settings, or choose Clear to
inherit the theme colour. The default applies only to newly inserted charts and
never rewrites existing charts.

Can I place the data table somewhere else?

Yes. Select a chart, open Chart reference, and choose Insert linked data table.
The new table stays synchronized and can be moved anywhere. You can also add a
Chart Data Table directly; it connects automatically when the post has one
tagged chart, or lets you choose when several are available. Its saved snapshot
keeps publishing if the source is removed, so a table-only layout is possible.

Does ChartQuill create demo pages?

No. Browse the ChartQuill category in the editor’s Patterns tab and insert a
starter layout only when you want one.

Can I switch a chart to another type?

Yes. Use Chart type in the block settings. ChartQuill preserves compatible
data, mappings, and editorial content. If the selected family needs different
fields, the editor explains what to map or correct. Unapplied data drafts do
not replace the last valid chart.

product-specific Freemius EULA at
