From 19 June 2026 every website selling to EU consumers must offer a digital withdrawal button (“withdraw from contract here”). This is required by Directive (EU) 2023/2673 (new Art. 11a of the Consumer Rights Directive). A missing button can extend the consumer’s withdrawal right by 12 months.

No setup wizard, no account, no external service. Install, choose language, done. Your data stays in YOUR WordPress database (GDPR-friendly, no processors involved).

Is this really mandatory?

Yes. Directive (EU) 2023/2673 applies from 19 June 2026 to all B2C distance contracts in the EU. Member states have implemented it into national law (e.g. § 356a BGB in Germany).

If consumers in the EU can buy goods, services or digital content on your site: yes.

Then you are exempt. Mixed B2B/B2C shops need the button.
