StudioMeyer Transparency Toolkit for the EU AI Act

Açıklama

Auf Deutsch: Das StudioMeyer Transparency Toolkit macht Ihre WordPress-Seite transparent gemäß Artikel 50 der EU-KI-Verordnung (gilt ab 2. August 2026).

The StudioMeyer Transparency Toolkit makes your WordPress site transparent under Article 50 of the EU AI Act — entirely on your own server.

This is an independent plugin by StudioMeyer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the European Union or any regulator. “EU AI Act” refers to Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, the European regulation on artificial intelligence.

From 2 August 2026, Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires providers and deployers to be transparent about AI: people must be told when they interact with an AI system (for example a chatbot), and AI-generated or AI-manipulated content shown to the public must be disclosed. The obligation applies to any site reachable from the EU, and the penalty ceiling for Article 50 breaches is high (up to 15 million euros or 3% of worldwide turnover). This plugin gives you the practical tools to comply, without sending a single byte to a third party.

1. Chatbot disclosure

A clean, accessible notice that tells visitors your site uses AI. Show it as a persistent footer bar, or place it anywhere with the [smtt_ai_notice] shortcode. The text is built in and provided in German and Spanish for German- and Spanish-language sites; you can override it. No JavaScript, no cookies.

2. AI content labeling

A one-click toggle in the editor marks a post, page or product as AI-generated or AI-assisted, with an optional detail (which parts, which tool). Marked content shows a visible label on the front end and, optionally, a machine-readable marker in the page head so tools can detect your disclosure.

3. Transparency notice generator (DE / EN / ES)

Answer a few questions — does your site use an AI chatbot, AI text, AI images? — and the plugin generates a tailored “AI Transparency Notice” as a draft page in the languages you choose. You review, adjust and publish it, then link it from your footer.

On top of that, an AI inventory detects common AI tools on your site (chatbots and AI plugins) and a readiness checklist shows, at a glance, what is still open.

Private by design

  • Everything runs locally in PHP on your server
  • No cloud service, no account, no API keys, no external requests
  • No personal data is collected or transmitted
  • All settings and AI flags are removed on uninstall (your generated notice pages stay — they are your content)

Honest scope

The plugin helps you meet the transparency duties of Article 50 (disclosure and labeling). It does not assess high-risk AI obligations, and the generated notice is a template aid, not legal advice. When in doubt, ask a lawyer — the plugin says so where it matters.

Who is this for?

  • Any EU-facing WordPress site that runs an AI chatbot or publishes AI-generated content
  • Shops and businesses that need Article 50 transparency in place before the deadline
  • Agencies preparing client sites — one local, no-SaaS tool across every site

SSS

Is this an official EU plugin?

No. The StudioMeyer Transparency Toolkit is an independent tool built by StudioMeyer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the European Union, the European Commission or any regulator. “EU AI Act” is used purely to describe the regulation the plugin helps you with.

Does this plugin make my site legally compliant?

No tool can guarantee that. The Transparency Toolkit gives you the practical building blocks for the Article 50 transparency obligations — a chatbot disclosure, content labeling and a transparency notice — and a checklist to track them. Whether your specific use of AI is fully covered, and whether other obligations apply, is a legal question. The generated notice is a starting template, not legal advice.

Does it send my content anywhere?

No. Everything runs in PHP on your own server. The plugin makes no external requests, uses no API keys and loads no third-party scripts. Nothing about your site, your visitors or your content leaves your server.

When do the Article 50 rules apply?

The transparency obligations of Article 50 apply from 2 August 2026. They cover, among other things, informing users that they are interacting with an AI system, and disclosing AI-generated or AI-manipulated content of public interest. A separate machine-marking rule for generative outputs follows later in 2026.

Will the chatbot disclosure work with my chatbot?

Yes. The disclosure is independent of any specific chatbot — it is a notice you show on your site. It works alongside SmartBot, AI Engine, Tidio or any other chat tool. You can show it as a footer bar or place it inline with the [smtt_ai_notice] shortcode, and you can copy the text into your bot’s welcome message too.

How does AI content labeling work?

Open any post, page or product, tick “This content was created or substantially assisted by AI” in the AI transparency box, optionally add a detail, and save. A visible label appears on the front end. An optional, clearly namespaced meta tag is added so tools can detect the disclosure; it makes no claim to an external standard.

Which languages are supported?

The visitor-facing texts — the disclosure notice, the content label and the generated transparency notice — are built in and ship in English, German and Spanish. The admin interface is in English and can be translated by the community via translate.wordpress.org.

Does it work with WooCommerce and page builders?

Yes. Products are supported when WooCommerce is active. The content label attaches to the post content, so it works with the block editor, the classic editor and builders that render through the normal content flow.
