Açıklama
This plugin allows you to organize a collection of famous quotes and phrases, with the ability to sort and tag them according to your criteria, and also update author data to show when searches filtered by a specific author are performed.
You can display all citations on a page (or post) and search for them by author, class, or topic. In addition, you can place a random quote in your template or sidebar (widget) that will change when you refresh the page.
When you install, the plugin will create some new tables in your database to save the data of: quotes, authors, classes and themes. Both classes and themes can be of your choice.
Quotes can be displayed as:
- A random quote anywhere on your blog using the shortcode [randomfrase]
- In the sidebar using the “VR-frases” widget.
- On a page that shows all the citations, and allows you to filter them by author, subject, etc.
Through the control panel you can add new quotes, authors, classes, and topics, and edit or delete them. You can use various shortcodes to display the stored information: quotes, authors, classes, and topics.

- Upload the folder z/vr-frases/ to the directory /wp-content/plugins/ or upload the .zip file and extract it in the /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
- Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.
- Update the settings (link: Settings / Activate / Delete).
- The plugin will look for old tables and update them if necessary.
Highlights upgrading from previous versions:
- Since version 2.0.1, you cannot update from version 1.4. In that case, first [manually update]* to version 1.5.x, and then to the latest version 4.0.x.
- The entire file and folder structure has changed. If you update manually, first delete all the files and folders because some files now have new names, then upload all the content to a folder called vr-frases in your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Don’t worry, your data will not be lost!

How to use
-
Manage Quotes
-
- It is the main panel of the Plugin where all the quotes are displayed, along with the results that match the search parameters, sorted by the criterion of your choice. All criteria can be combined with each other.
- Quick Edit allows you to modify only the Clase and the Themes, while the Edit function allows you to modify all fields.
-
Add new Quote
-
- This form is used to add quotes individually.
- All fields must be filled in.
- If any item is duplicated (Sentence and Author), an error message will be displayed and it will NOT be processed.
-
- This panel displays a listing of all the authors we have registered in the database.
- Each Author record is created automatically when adding a new Quote, modifying an existing Quote, and after processing an item from the imported quotes table.
- The Quick Edit allows you to add or modify the data associated with the Author: place of birth and dates of birth and death, in addition to a brief biographical note.
- For dates prior to Christ, the ‘BC’ option must be marked and the date entered as ’01/01/YYYY’, which will display the date as ‘YYYY BC’.
- You have a dropdown box that allows you to filter the Authors who have all the data and those who are still pending to complete the information.
-
Manage Classes and Manage Themes
-
- These panels allow you to add or modify the Classes and Topics of your choice.
- Classes act as categories and Themes as tags.
- In the Add field, you can enter multiple values separated by commas (,).
- If any item is duplicated, an error message will be displayed and it WILL NOT be processed.
-
Import Quotes
-
- This panel allows you to upload a file in .CSV or .TXT format with the fields “Quote” and “Author” in quotes and separated by commas (,).
- When importing the file, the data is copied to an intermediate table from where you can process each record. You must add a Class and one or more Topics.
- When saving the data, the Quote moves to the main table and the Author goes to the authors table where you can add biographical data.
- If any element is duplicated, an error message will be displayed during the data import, and it will NOT be processed.
-
Manage Options
-
- In this panel you can modify the Plugin options, each field has a descriptive label of the option to configure, so it will be easy for you to adjust it to your preferences.
- The most important option is the ‘slug’ of the page where you will display your quotes to the user.
- Create a blank page with the name you selected in the ‘slug’ option and insert the shortcode [vrfrases] and it will be ready to work.
